Asking questions is essential for corporate innovation

Av

Developing a business is dependent upon asking questions. If you don’t ask questions, how can you learn? All improvements stem from questions like; ”Can we do this in a better way?”; “Where are we really unique?”; “Who would really miss us if we didn’t exist?”; “Which of our customers problems are we not solving by doing what we do?”

Posing questions is essential in pushing development further. The rush to take action before a root cause of a symptom is clear can cause more harm than good. While innovation should no doubt be pursued actively, taking the time to consider a set of smart and challenging questions can be a great way to focus activities and tilt the odds of success in your favor.

In this HBR-article Scott Anthony puts forward eight essential questions for every corporate innovator. Do you have the answers to them?
