Checklist for feedback
Using a checklist, you can check whether the feedback you give will encourage your employees to do the right things.
1. The feedback is concrete and focuses on behaviour. I focus on what my employee does and not on what he or she is like.
2. I am sufficiently clear to ensure that the message about what my employee should repeat really gets through. Follow-up question: Will my employee understand what he/she should repeat?
3. My feedback is adapted to an individual.
4. I give my feedback as soon as the positive behaviour takes place. I don’t put it off until a conversation at a later time. Remember that consequences which are close in time have a greater impact on our behaviour than consequences which are further away in time.
